Patriot Gold Announces Drilling Results for Bruner Project, Nevada

April 23, 2009
Patriot Gold Corp. (OTCBB: PGOL) today announced the results of its drilling program at Bruner, located in west-central Nevada 45 miles northwest of the Round Mountain Mine. A total of 10,645 feet were drilled in 20 holes. All of the holes were reverse circulation (RC). A summary of gold/silver results is shown on the next page of this release.

The drilling found 3 intercepts of high-grade gold (5 feet of 0.975 oz/ton gold and 5 feet of 0.204 oz/ton gold in drill hole B-04 and 5 feet of 0.189 oz/ton gold in B-20). In addition, numerous thick intercepts of low-grade gold were found in the holes. The best example of this is 60 feet of 0.015 oz/ton gold in drill hole B-17. Two separate targets have been identified at Bruner. One is high-grade gold in steeply dipping veins similar to those historically mined in the district. The other is a Round Mountain style target.

The Round Mountain Mine has produced over 10 million ounces of gold from a large open-pit heap-leach operation. The mine has been economic for many years producing at very low grades. The current grade being mined is 0.018 oz/ton gold according to a recent Kinross Gold Corporation report. Both the Round Mountain Mine and Bruner project occur within large volcanic centers and have similar host rocks.

At the time of drilling Patriot Gold controlled 22 unpatented claims totaling approximately 440 acres. The claims are located on federal lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Patriot Gold is currently in the process of increasing its land holdings in the Bruner District. A map showing the location of Patriot Gold's 22 claims and drill holes is on the company's website.
